It just happened!

I'm not going to chase this problem with parts, so I'll park it until the weekend, when I can start over with the diagnostics. As it is now, I can't safely drive it.

The weird part is is happens in exactly the same place and at exactly the same speed every time. It's bad enough to have DW, but even worse when it happens on an interstate highway where everyone is doing 70+ MPH. Especially when you have to come to a complete stop on said interstate in order to make the DW go away. Not a fun experience at all! 😳

Does it do it when driving straight or is it a turn?

Straight. I've never experienced it in a turn. Not to say it can't happen there, but it's always been on a straight stretch of road at approximately 63 mph.

I had a loose track bar that would do it randomly when I turned so that's why I asked. Once tightened no more issues.

I did have some issues with the jam nut on the JKS track bar coming loose, but have since used a thread locking compound to stop that issue. During the process I also verified the all hardware was torqued properly and that there were no issues with bolt holes being out of round.

Like I said, I'm going to step away and start over. It just pisses me off to have a vehicle in the garage I've spent money and time on, but can't trust it to drive!

Man that's frustrating. Sorry it's giving you problems.

I had that feeling this week with the radiator, fan clutch and heater vents.

Hey im fairly new to an LJ rubi and it seems you have a bunch of experience, just wondering if you can recommend me a good LJ bumper - can't PM.

I read a post where you said:

"light rear bumper that fits tight and protects the rear frame ends as much as possible"

Thanks

Here's a table that @SSTJ put together. Of the ones there, Savvy and Next Venture are my favorites. However, Savvy is out of stock and seems to be having issues getting new stock in. Next Venture advertises an 8 week lead time. The Next venture links show two of their bumpers. Both wrap around the rear cross-member and have frame tie-in kits. The 1st is without a receiver hitch, the 2nd with.

I bought this one from Metalcloak. Really like the way it looks.

Just wanted to add that I'm sure there are other, tougher options out there. I have an SE, so my table included only the lightest-weight bumpers I could find.

Uh oh, where is that supposed to go?

The instructions for the JKS track bar specifically say the washer does not go in a TJ installation. I installed it in a TJ installation. 🤪

Also, when I checked the torque on the frame side bolt, it was only approximately 75 ft pounds. The instructions say 135 ft pounds!

Double....🤪

Man I hope that's it. That feeling of finally fixing something that had been a persistent headache is soo nice!
