That's true. I was just thinking, if he's already shifted 3/4", he'll probably shift more after the lift. But the JKS may be better if it fits lower lift heights. So good point. It's tough at low lifts to find an adjustable trackbar. Probably why some just drilled another hole on the axle side, not that I would suggest that course. I've only seen that solution, never investigated whether it is a good one.

I've had my JKS front TB on for about 8 years with no issues. With my low lift, the TB still has a lot of thread to adjust shorter if needed. Once you got that route you're kind of stuck with that style of TB since you'll be drilling out the taper on frame side mount. Just FYI.

Dropped some coin today...

Morris 4x4 had a end of year sale, 10% off entire order (eoysale), so I jumped on it. Going to pick up the Savvy cable shifter too. I'll have a couple of DIY projects to do, like turn some bump stop extensions and possibly make some end links for the rear sway bar. I'm also not going to put the adjustable rear track bar in yet. We'll see how the bracket does. At only 2 inches of SL, I think I'll be ok.

How much will I need to lower the transmission to remove the upper nut on the TCase so I can install that bracket? it gets to be a small space up there! And, how much can I lower it without damaging something? It’s the only part of the install that’s bugging me.

I don't have ANY idea! It shouldn't take too much though. You can lower it a few inches for sure. The other piece of advice I've read is that taking the front driveshaft off makes a big difference. I've got a 241OR T-case too, which is noticably bigger than the 231.

When I installed the Savvy cable on a 2003 X, I did not lower the TC skid at all. I don't remember it being a big deal with the install. I would think taking the drive shaft off at the TC would be more useful IMO.

My transmission was only lowered by about a half an inch if I recall. I removed the transfer case skid plate, but not the front drive shaft. I think I have a thread around here somewhere with my install notes. I'll try to dig it up.

The instructions say pull the crossmember to get better access. I'll of course, drop the skid. I'll take a look when I get under there. Need to get this installed, as the stock linkage is all jacked up now!

Parts are coming in! I've got almost everything now. Still waiting on my transmission mount and my cable shifter. Not sure why, but Savvy requested my shipment be returned to them before being delivered to me. No biggie...but I also didn't get any explanation.

Anyway...

The JKS body mount kit works just like the savvy, in that it mounts over top of the factory mounts. It is not aluminum though, its a polyurethane type of material. Feels nice and hard though. Hope I don't regret going JKS vs Savvy.

The M.O.R.E. motor mounts also came in, and Damn...These things are STOUT. Very happy with this purchase.

Overall, I've been impressed with the parts feel. The JKS stuff feels quality, the M.O.R.E. stuff feels quality, the OME stuff feels quality. My wife was asking me why I spent 900 bucks, and only got 3 inches or so of lift. I told her 900 bucks was a STEAL for 3 inches of lift. When I'm done...it should ride better than it does now. Last time the two of us went offroad...she was complaining that she should have worn her sports bra!
