Babies 2nd birthday party is the 8th (birthday is actually the 18th) So I will be busy those weekends.
Hoping the fire took care of a lot of that. I'll report my findings once I'm up there.

I have to drive a route tomorrow (S.R, Sonoma,Napa) then I get to drive to Sac airport to pick up my boys for the summer. Got a wedding on Saturday.
Next weekend I don’t have plans but will have to check if I do through my wife.

Just an overnighter at the State Park for a shakedown trip with the new dog to see if he will travel well.
A friend just sent these photos he took on our trip to Black Rock Desert, High Rock Canyon, and Stevens Camp NV, May 16-18:
High Rock Canyon looking back toward Black Rock Desert. There are normally 3-4 water crossings when the BLM opens the gate to the canyon in mid-May every year. This year I lost count at 15.

The BLM cabin at Stevens Ranch. It was cold with sun, rain, sleet, snow, wind and sun again all in the same day. The ranch was once owned by Tennessee Ernie Ford, who built the cabin.
It was a great shakedown run before summer and definitely worthy of a repeat trip next year.

Sweet ! Where do you start from and end up ? I drive to Winnemucca 1-2 times a year to exchange my kids (same kids, not new ones). My wife and I have always wanted to stop off at the rye patch but never have do to time restraints.

Some years we go around the east side of the playa to the various hot springs and other years we exit to the northwest along the route of the Applegate Trail through High Rock Canyon and Stevens Camp and then either east to Denio Junction to Winnemucca then to the Bay Area, or for me a left turn at 8A back to Cedarville then west on 299 from there.

Nice..... Did a trip in that same area several years ago. I remember the Tennessee Ernie Ford cabin. Hit one hot spring near an old wagon.
Too far away from me for a day run. Let us know the snow depth at that elevation.
I'm looking forward to running the trails in that area but fear that snow will be an issue for many of them until mid-July.
I’ll be Jeeping in spirit all weekend till Wednesday on Lake Shasta on a house boat. Im going to be red as a crab by Saturday I’m sure. Going to show off my slalom skills to my kids and wife, Rooster tali’s till my quads give out.
I will drive past Shasta Lake tomorrow on a weekend run to Tamarack Lake with my jeep club. Have fun. I live just down the road and have yet to spend any time on a houseboat.
Nice. My wife and I did that lake and camped at castle Craig’s by the river in September 2018. Rained like hell.
Not at any time I've been there, but perhaps this weekend will be different. I'll let you know.
JB? Was that Tamarack lake we went to 3 years ago when we went up to Castle Crags?
