Picking up where I left off

Sounds like a solid plan. More $$$ for other goodies that'll help you get down the trail!
A solid plan? Don't forget I have your address and I am not a tiny bit above giving it to the truck driver before he offloads Chris's rig and sending him your direction. Ya'll need to cool your jets a bit.

I know I talk about 75mph all the time, but I tend to gravitate towards 65-70mph.

Next up he will be asking for high pinion 60s.

Hey now! I'm the guy who talked him into not going to hubs for the sake of it!

And I'd like to see Chris have fun in the snow. The lakes are frozen over if he wants to drive out.

I'm okay with big axles. I am not okay with expecting the fucking impossible.
Yeah, I suppose I am the guy who told him that trans went 85 with no vibes (it actually went 90 with the front disconnected but that'll be our secret. Chris can be the first to take it past 100.).

I'll take my lashings now.

85 is not my number. If you want that number I can give you some pointers to help you work through that process. Otherwise you will have to arrive at a civilized number that is tolerable. Ya'll that think doing 80-85 mph on big tires are just freaking silly and that's me being my most polite.
What would be your number?

If you’ve ever driven on the I-10 you’ll know that going 80 is going slow. That’s actually where I got my number from 😉

It's a snail's pace on the Autobahn, so?

Ya'll read the same fucking vibe threads I do. Ya'll see the same troubles and tribulations that others have gone through and now by some fucking magic it is all supposed to be ignored and dismissed?

Iffen you want sporty car speeds, then go fetch up and drive a sporty car because I am right at the edge of saying fuckit and sending this pile back to AZ before it ever gets off the truck. I am a wizard, not a FUCKING MAGICIAN.

Just ordered a RubiCrawler for the build. I figure if a 42RLE is going in, may as well get the RubiCrawler. They sure have gone up in price though.

Honestly, so far I haven't really found a need for anything other than the 4:1 crawl ratio in the 241OR transfer case, but I figure it's better to have and not need than to need and not have. There may potentially be some situations where the RubiCrawler will come in handy.
Whats the going rate? I'd like to put one in mine. Would like to find a new used one : )

You deleted your don't ask any more questions post but for the sake of discussion, when you dig through all the near impossible vibe threads, what is the most lethal combination to try and fix to be vibe free? That's right, 42RLE, 241OR, Rubi axles, and 5.38's on 35's. And what are you getting?

EDIT: I'll just live with the vibes. It is what it is. It's a trail rig at this point anyways.

Exactly! He's picking the "perfect storm"!

Then perhaps it's stupid of me to even put a 42RLE in there in the first place if I'm expecting it to be vibe free up until higher speeds.

I get that the answer is manual hubs, but that is of course going to open up a massive rabbit hole of spending money I don't particularly want to spend, probably to the tune of $5000 or more.

I guess this gives me something to think about then.
Why don’t you just buy one of those 50k genright builds? This is way different than what you originally set out to do haha. This is fun to watch tho lol
