I'm sure getting the torx bolts off for the door hinges wasn't too fun... looks good!
I honestly love the green. Green and tan has always been my perfect Jeep color. If only this thing had been a Sahara!
CREEEEEEEEEEEAK... CRACK - spin loose. Repeat. Terrifying but surprisingly doable without stripping. Heat helps.
Although it might be a big jump, once I had the body back on the frame, everything moved very fast. These are some pictures just to get an idea for a before and after for the big paint job coming up. But at this point she still wasn't running.
And here she is running! First video is the first time she popped to life.

Since the engine was running, the only thing keeping me from a (short) drive was the brakes. So with brand new cast iron rotors, wheel bearings, Black Magic Brakes zinc coated calipers, and allllllllllllllll of the drum hardware, I got to work. It took quite a while. I ran YJ front brake lines to the new calipers and it took quite a while to plumb the new brake lines as well.
After testing the brakes, which worked great, I took it to the gas station down the street using slow back roads. First fill up for at least six years I bet! Noticed a few things on the drive, the steering gear is leaking at the input shaft seal, and the axle-side track bar nut was missing! So I ended up making my own.
I swore uploaded a bunch more progress after this, but I'm going to make a few posts to make up for that... So - it was painted! And it looks really good! Check out some of the process pictures.
Next, some of the pictures after it was all finished getting painted, right out of the body shop! Finally got to tow my Jeep with my Jeep 
Now that it was all painted, I had a BUNCH of trim to paint. So I went out in the 5F winter in my garage and set to work. SEM prep, adhesion promoter, and paint used for all plastics.
A few more trim pictures of a longer center console I ended up adding later. Figured I would bundle all of the interior painting in one post. You can really see the weird way SEM paint applies in these pics. It almost "spits" paint on the surface. After a few coats it looks fantastic.
