Weekend before us. Glad we weren't there that weekend. Was already pretty crowded and we got stuck in a couple of traffic jams and slowdowns. Trail out of Rubicon Springs was closed Saturday night because they had just poured concrete at the base of Cadillac Hill and Observation Point was closed Sunday to support search and rescue helicopters.

They located the guy, sounded like he was fine. They found him at Hell Hole Reservoir. I believe the Jeep Jamboree is this weekend so they have been prepping the trail.

Yeah saw that... interesting to see what his path was...Hell Bound Lake is north and west of Loon Lake. How he wandered all over the place and missed finding a crowded, noisy trail is beyond me. He must have gone north into some of the country above Rubicon Springs and then headed west. Who knows. Glad he's alive.

Most of the Search and Rescue folks I met were in body hunt mode. Been on enough of em to know. I warned several of them that trail volunteers are tough bastards. We walk long, hard, hot miles carrying obscene weight. I've had 80 year old trail volunteers walk me into the ground.

What is odd about this from what I read and heard on a local podcast here in Sac is he was very familiar with the area and has been up there several times over the years. So just odd overall. I think the article in the local news said he was in a hole so maybe he slipped or something.

You all may have come across the club I am in, Hi-Landers. They were supposed to be camping at Rubicon Springs this last weekend.

Had a seized caliper in Pollock Pines or there abouts. Was a journey to get that fixed. Then after getting that squared away, he was fueling up and his fuel tank had a split due to an exhaust malfunction 😬

His wife came and got him with a trailer I think.

I was thinking the caliper was before that the gas tank issue was in Pollock Pines. Either way was fairly close and just depends on what I was in the middle of doing, may have been able to help.

Yeah I didn't make it caliper seized up a little less than halfway and then in pollock pines my exhaust melted a small hole in the tank. My wife came with the truck and flat tow bar setup.

I may have talked some shit about 33s at 47.5 😬

But at 49.02 some dude talked shit about 33s on the trail as I scooted by and his girl said oohhh shiny pristine

To you sir my friend... eat cock. And learn how to drive 👍
