I haven't. There are good sites on the road in before the dam at Loon I might try. Maybe in Wentworth on the trail because most don't go that way. Traffic on the trails is so unpredictable since covid so its hard to know til you get places. Sort of an unknown where I can leave the truck and trailer too. Sometimes Loon below the dam is jam packed.

Ill PM you a link to my satellite tracker and my cell number. The tracker is good to 10'+/- where I'm at. And I can drive around once I get there to get signal and text you 😃

Also planning on rolling in Thursday night sometime....9 hours in an open top Jeep.... although my wife's aunt and uncle live in Cameron Park so we might go up Wednesday.

No plans on a campsite... figured I'd find dispersed camping someplace close to Loon Lake.

I assume there's no cell phone service in the area?

What GMRS channel should I monitor? We could pick a number and see if we can meet up...or if there's a bulletin board at the staging area I suppose we could try and post where we're camping.

Looks like the Royal Fire is holding at 215 acres, is 65 percent contained and zero growth in 48 hours. 320 heroes working their ass off in this heat wave digging fire lines by hand supported by tankers and helicopters. That's some steep, evil and mean dirt to be humping. I did 22 miles this weekend with a chainsaw...kicked my ass...

hey y'all, like i was mentioning above. Busy summer with two kiddo's going off to college in the early fall. I'm out, unfortunately. Far less free time than I was thinking. (duh) Hope it's an epic trip.

I think the next possibility on the horizon is Trail hero in Oct, but even that would need to squeeze between responsibilities in this busy household...lol.

I wish I was ready. Should be dropping the new engine into the Jeep by the end of the week hopefully. Then not too much after that I'm hoping and I might be driving the Jeep again.

Have a great trip.

I did mine in eight days... although I had the luxury of a running engine sans troubleshooting my sheered off fuel pump.

You've got all week!

Waiting for parts?

Need help?

Still at my sister's house finishing the installation of the new transmission in my nieces truck. Won't be home until Wednesday afternoon.
Then got a vet appointment Thursday morning. So won't even start on the engine until Thursday late morning.
Once it's in then I've got to make a new transmission crossmember. And figure out anything else related to the new engine/transmission install.
Remember I'm going from the Magnum engine to a Hemi. So lots of little things to take care of.

OK what a day... sorry I did not make it out there. On my way today almost halfway and I discovered my driver front brake caliper decided to stop work and was causing a little drag and when braking it would pull to the right and I was in traffic so I pulled over and the right brake was hot but not burnt, I pull out the phone and found a auto zone and in the parking lot I jacked it up and tried to spin the wheel and it wouldn't o I took the caliper off and it spins so I needed a caliper. They did not have it but the manager ran across town to get it for me as he was a new jeeper himself. I get it swapped and bled well enough to drive. I continue to pollock pines for gas and start filling and I then I hear it begin to leak out because my exhaust melted a hole in thr tank and I guess it caused it to split because it empty. Called my wife and asked her to grab the hitch and the tow bar throw it in my truck and please come get me. I made it home and the jeep is parked out front and now I have to look for a new tank. I hope you guys have better luck than I did. Share some pics
