what are the tools you carry every time you hit the trail.

this father’s day i received a tool roll pouch and want to start putting some stuff together for that.

This yellow box has my hand tools,

The orange one has the 1/2 impact

The black one has the 1/4 inch impact.

Went up in the local mountains today with my Daughter for our annual Fathers Day ride. This is the bare minimum that I bring with me.
* 3 tool bags with lots hand tools, spare hardware, electrical wire and electrical stuff, variety of rope/wire/zip ties, tire repair kit and multi-meter.
* Jumper cables
* Bag of communication gear including Garmin InReach
* Bag with recovery gear.
* First aid kit
* Bag of survival gear
* 2 gal of water
* Air compressor
The bags make it nice and easy to load and store the supplies afterward.

i’ve got a schumacher jump box that resides in the Jeep now. it’s a powerful little tool that sits in the door. don’t have to have another vehicle to jump off of.

I like to pack light, but the minimum I take:

* Wrench Roll - most box wrenches metric + sae
* Full socket set - though I'm pairing this down to only be sizes on my jeep, including a 36mm
* Snap ring pliers
* Crescent wrench
* Knipex
* Jack

Of course depending on the length some basic survival stuff and spare parts (like u joints and a spare ignition cylinder).

Your basic tool set, 2 BIG crescents, big hammer, pickle fork, 2 jumper cables and 3/32 welding rod, garbage bags (trash but also fluid capture and ability to put it back when needed/possible), bottle jack, hi-lift, field service hydro lines and fittings, E-compressor, E-impact and ratchet. Water, Oil, PS fluid, Diff fluid. Fuses, solenoid (jeep and ARB), patch kit

That’s the thread i was looking for before i posted this one.

I always take my brother. He's a mechanic and he tows or drives RVs all over the country because he's a dealer.

His toolkit is in one not terribly large but heavy bag. He's done field repairs on all sorts of stuff.

I should have him dump out his tools some time to see what I may be missing.

I do make sure to carry ratchet straps and some 2x4 or 4x4 blocks of wood? The wood helps if the ground is soft and/or you are using a bottle jack.

I walked 22 miles in a day on a short wheeling trip in April because the Jeep didn't want to start and I was miles from the nearest road by myself. Bought one of those jump packs at a hardware store in the nearest town, charged in sitting in a gas station, and walked back. Jeep actually started without it, but +1 on the Schumacher jump box.

My toolkit is similar to those mentioned; sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, a crescent wrench, electrical stuff, tire stuff, some rags, funnels, trash bags, gloves, firestarting, food and water, electronics, hand tools for felling trees and digging, etc. Gets much bigger in the winter.
