Put the knot somewhere away from either anchor point. Don't overthink it.I don’t doubt they are great. Just trying to understand in my mind how they stay together while in use Since I’ve never seen one used in person.
A couple more questions:
1) So, using @TJ Starting ’s last picture as a reference, would you set it up to use with let say the right right of his shackle in the shackle mounting point on a bumper and the winch cable on the left side of the shackle? Keeping the knot in the center of the loop while in use?
The sleeve does nothing the same way a sleeve on a winch rope does nothing. The presence or absence of the sleeve means nothing.2) Some I’ve seen come with a sleeve. Is that for putting on the shackle if your bumpers shackle mounting point doesn’t have rounded edges?
Thanks for all the info. Just trying to learn a little more.

I was thinking that, but then seen in the TRE website that they show a picture with the knot at one end.
Thanks again for the info.
Until I got to tgis last post, I forgot I was actually in Tworley's build thread and thought it was one on soft shackles.@tworley , sorry for derailing your build thread. I should have posted my questions in a new post. You can delete them if you want.

Where did you find that upper plug / panel holder from the last photo? My half doors have been missing that since I took them apart a few years ago since I couldn't find the correct clip.
It fit hole on the inner door and I heard the ribs snap in as I pushed on the panel. The panel is very tight now. Its not grey to match but im not worried about that (look at the rest of my heap).Huh, I didn't see any I thought would fit when I checked the part stores. Those look a little different than the ones that I pulled out, but I'll have to give them a shot. Thanks.
I bet your neighbors were looking at you funny! On board air does a great job of blowing a sprinkler system out
