Should I be concerned about Savvy Off Road?

So irritating. Savvy sold Novak kits that they modified and didn't even tell Novak. Savvy demanded changes to the Novak kit which they were selling and Novak didn't want to make changes so Savvy made the changes and started branding the kit as their own. There is absolutely no doubt that Savvy used to sell Novak kits before they had their own. There is no doubt that Novak gave no permission for Savvy to change the design. Novak was first to sell the cable shifter. Novak did not licence or otherwise approve of the Savvy design. Novak to this day feels that Savvy has ripped their design like a cheap Chinese knock-off. Sure, they made "improvements" but you can't just say "they don't sell me enough" or "they don't make the changes I want" and justify stealing the design.
I guess I have been very lucky with the few Saavy parts I’ve ordered,body lift, engine skid, both took about 6 weeks to get. I am updating components on my LJ mainly for weight savings. One on these I had problem with paying online. I call and Gerald answered and took care of it. I have about a 50% email response rate. Two day ago I went on the site to order the gas tank skid (3 in stock) placed the order and today got tracking # and invoice.
Yep, they knew Novak didn't have the resources to protect their IP. Not taking sides, just don't enjoy the story told skewed.
It's just laws and lawyers, I think the story should be told as it happened so people know who they are dealing with.
Since when is morality intrinsic to capitalism or any other economic system?
I can't see what he posted on this thread and I haven't checked but what I posted is exactly how he has described it in the past. He has suggested Savvy was justified because Novak could not provide enough product and refused to make the changes suggested. I don't think they had to change but obviously opinions vary. I quoted the post I had issues with, beyond that I have no interest in tracking down people that block and hide. Are you disputing the story? I'd enjoy hearing another perspective. We can always ask Novak (again).
That’s what I did and receive the cable in just a few days. I also just recently ordered my body lift direct from Savvy and only received an email telling me they got my payment. Communication could be better…. I’m just hoping it also arrives soon.
What he posted here earlier is consistent with what he has been saying for years. Your version is full of your own projections.
That's fine, I'm just going on what he has posted and what Novak has said. You can find it all for yourself. I don't sell anything here. The fact that Novak sold the cable shifter before Savvy isn't a projection, it's a fact.

If you are going to paraphrase someone, do it properly. Better, quote them directly if you can so that there is no misinterpretation.
Just for reference in this thread, have you talked to Novak at all about this matter? Or, are you going off of what you read elsewhere?

It also doesn't support stupidity. If, and I repeat *if*, the Savvy design is better than Novak's - AND - Novak was offered the improvements and they declined; Savvy is free to sell all they can make as far as I'm concerned. I don't have a dog in this fight, but that's my viewpoint based on what I can "see from here".
Capitalism rewards those that build a better mousetrap. If you do not improve or innovate you will be passed up. Novak probably should have acted on Blaines recommendations then they would have only had to worry about the Steinjagers of the world.
