Glad you got it back running.
I have all the standard recovery stuff (2 tow straps, treee saver, blocks, rings, shackles, winch, Hi-Lift jack, etc.)

I read on the Facebook page that we need a free permit to use propane stoves for cooking. Is that true and where do I get this permit.

It’s a National Forest fire permit, I got one, it’s good for a year.

And I have not had the need to use the trail welder, thankfully.

The whole southern and east Sierra’s are getting nailed with rain the past week+. Hope it lets up a bit so we get some decent weather and it’s not a mud fest.

So there was a group that just made it through the Dusy yesterday and they said fires are ok at Voyager and Ershim campgrounds. I will call and confirm with the Ranger station, but that sure would be nice.

Alright so I got some clarification on the fire situation. You can have fires in designated campgrounds. However none of the "campgrounds" on the Dusy are considered designated campgrounds, they are not controlled by the forest service and are considered dispersed camping. So @Fish Family JKU you are right, propane only. The last groups just got lucky they didn't get caught.

Also I just picked up an oven for camp so we can have some fresh hot cornbread with our chili 😋

(Gonna give it a test run this weekend just to be sure I can get it right.)

Ok so I got some push back on the Facebook page after saying there are no fires allowed and it looks like the guys on the FB page are right. According to the fire restriction orders Dinky Lakes Wilderness is EXEMPT from the fire order. Here is the actual order that is being enforced. We will be going through the Dinky Lakes Wilderness. I plan on printing this out and building a fire myself. 👹

Well I hope its all good. I would much rather have a real fire and bring just a saw. Rather than lugging in a pit and tank.
Is the count on pg1 still good? 7 rigs?

I've got a corroded wire bundle behind the battery, giving me all kinds of codes and headaches. I doubt that I'll be ready.
Sorry guys, have fun.

I love Dusy. Don't know what the forecast is for your dates, but be prepared for random weather :D

I think I could do it on 33s without having to be drug through. Just need to super 35 my rear axle.

Okay, my wife's not working at the hospital that weekend, so I've cleared that hurdle.

However, I noticed on the calendar in the kitchen that my wife had written Sunday the 21st as our wedding anniversary. She said I should still go, but I'm trying to figured out if that's just a test. Hmmm

On a side note, I think a buddy from work and I are going to go run Barrett Lake trail this Sat/Sun if anyone was interested in coming.

Congrats on the anniversary. Not sure where you are at but are you running Barrett Lake (Log Corral) in AZ?
