Swollen Nuts

Anyone have an f150 with the super cheap 2 piece coated lug nuts, some are so swollen they’ve outgrown a 22MM socket

Ford went super cheap from the factory and coated open style lug nuts with a metal chrome cap. Had one strip and start spinning when I swapped the snow tires on. All we’re getting stuck in an impact socket.

Replacing all with aftermarket Dorman OEMFix 1 piece lug nuts, cost over $100

I have a 19.5 X 22.5 mm flip socket for just these situations…

Unfortunately as you’ve found out even a well fitting socket, much less the correct size pounded on, won’t make any difference sometimes…

We don’t mind the snow but wasn’t expecting 10” to clear this AM on top of what we got last week. It feels like mid December with this much snow already. I was surprised they spray up here

Yeah, ended up taking a chisel to one to peel off the layer and get to the nut, they’re junk.

When you see the plow trailers they are dribbling crap on the road so keep back as much as you can. Much rather they stuck with just sand.
