Too much bump stop?

I have a 2” lift which is actually probably more than 2” because my jeep is on the lighter side. The front axle being very visibly off center has been driving me crazy so I figured while I was doing everything else I would install adjustable track bar. Ordered the rock jock track bar. I am test fitting today, I think I have the axle centered after messing with it for hours. Now I’m checking the clearance. It looks like I am going to need 3 3/4” - 4” Bumpstop to keep the Dana 44 pumpkin off of the track bar. This seems like a ridiculous amount of bumpstop to me.

It does look like I could pull the front axle back some, but that will definitely put the jounce cups a little out of alignment with the bumpstops.

It’s tight upfront because I have Currie steering, which is probably overkill for me and a Dynatrac 44 which is definitely overkill for me.

I haven’t drilled any of the mounts for the RJ TB yet just in case. The frame side is bolted up with the biggest bolt ace had that would fit the mount

I would pull the axle back a bit and it should hit center enough. I have a Core4x4 arm and only have 2in of bump stop extension with no issues but could cycle it fully with no bump stop extension with no tires or shocks since those are my limiting factors. I also made my own custom rod end Johnny joint offsetting the joint and stud to push the track bar forward away from the axle since the regular joint was causing the bar to hit the diff cover.

I need to get back out and see how much it would need to move back to clear. I started feeling really sick all of a sudden and had to put my toys away.

Ok so I was too sick all weekend so finally had a little time today to move the axle around. This is the 2” bump and barely no contact between track bar and diff cover and track bar and tie rod. But…is the axle too far back for the bump stops?

Close enough is good enough for the bumps.

Your spring perch does not look factory. Was it cut off and replaced at some point?

The whole front axle is not factory. It’s a Dynatrac ProRock 44. Honestly it is way more than I need. I got it with insurance money after I bent my factory axle in an accident but at that time I had different plans than I do now.

That makes sense. With that said, like everyone said those bump stops are close enough. I think your problem is that the spring purchase were welded at a different angle compared to a factory axle and you probably wont be able to center them perfectly with out causing other issues.

The caster/pinion angle isn't set correctly yet, I am still messing around with the position of things, hopefully I can get everything a little more in line. It looks like I still need to move the axle a little more towards the passenger side to get it centered, which will bring the diff cover a little more into the wider part of the track bar bend which I hope will allow me to push the axle a little further forward.
