Did you end up going?

I did, but as Alex stated, the Friday full trail run was canceled so they just did the River Run which is basically half the trail. Instead of starting at trail head you start at camp (meadow lake) and go down winch hill 5,4 and 3. Then come back up. I was going to be running with the drag crew and decided to just stay at camp and ran some other trails. I did go down winch hill 5 and back up.
I had just met Jarold (the guy who had the accident) two weeks prior at the NorCal Crawlers club meeting. Seemed like a nice guy. Very sad what happened to him.

Registered for novice (sounds like its just a couple of extra hours and then picks up where the advanced beginner starts?), trying to get my friend to come too with his JKU.

The wife and I got to talking and we’re thinking about camping at Usal beach this Saturday and Sunday. I know it’s Labor Day weekend but what the hell. How crowded can it be ?
If anyone doesn’t have any plans..... We should be there

Yep, the fire has wiped out most of my stomping ground. Usal should be good!

It's a "maybe." Too many irons in the fire right now, we'll have to see in a few weeks.

Well Usal Beach was a no go. Saturday by 9 am it was PACKED 4or 5 cars deep at every camp. So we took Usal road north looking to get to Wheeler and Jackass Creek but they had locked gate so we kept going till we hit the 4 corners just south of Shelter Cove. They had a fundraiser for the fire department at 4 corners and directed us to Needle Rock down Briceland road. Holy smokes it was amazing. Lot of ppl going on the Lost Coast Trail but only us and one other camper. Here some pics

There were about 19 mama and baby Elk. The bulls were in rut and one was really putting on a show about 50 yards from our camp. Only thing better would of been another day camping

Sucks man ! Yea we left at 5 am and got to Usal about 9, then the trek on Usal road. My wife was ugh slightly doubting Thomas a few times but it worked out beautifully.
