If you've been around this forum long enough, you'll know that I have trouble keeping my Jeeps. The first one was my 2005 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, followed by Project Pissed Off Wife: A Story of Indecision and Frivolous Spending, and finally Project Pissed Off Wife II: Teeth > Jeep.

I had always intended to keep my khaki TJ (Project Pissed Off Wife: A Story of Indecision and Frivolous Spending) as it was built just the way I wanted it. Unfortunately for me it came to my attention that I owed the IRS $28,000 from failing to file my taxes in 2007 and 2008 (as it turns out, the penalty for not filing taxes is bigger than it is for not paying taxes). They had put a lien on my house, and I really, really didn't want that hanging over my head. Fortunately forum member @toximus bought my Jeep for his wife @Mrs Tox, so at least I know it's in good hands.

Project Pissed Off Wife II: Teeth > Jeep was supposed to be a mild build, as I didn't want to redo my khaki TJ build since I knew that was going to cost more money than I had to spend.

Well, as luck would have it, the stars happened to align and the universe unfolded exactly as it should, because this thing popped up for sale:

https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/2003-rubicon-savvy-mid-arm-build.39192/
It was nearly identical to my khaki build and had even more parts. The only major things I felt it was missing were outboard shocks and a PSC hydro-assist setup.

The real kicker though was the price. For $20,000 I would be saving probably well over 30k worth of parts and labor.

So I took this as a sign from the universe and ended up buying it.

My ultimate goal with this Jeep is to have a vehicle that I can wheel out here in Arizona. Our house is within a very short distance of some of the best wheeling in the state, so to have a well built rig like this and live where we do is a really a dream come true.

I look at this TJ as basically picking up almost exactly where I left off with my old khaki TJ. I like to believe that the universe tends to unfold as it should and sometimes one door closed leads to another door open. In the case of this TJ, I really and truly believe this was the stars aligning and the universe giving me a chance at picking up where I left off.

This is what's been done to the Jeep so far:
Things I'll be adding soon:
  • Goodyear MT/R Kevlar tires

FYI, the Jeep is supposed to be picked up on Thursday according to the transport company (that's what they are shooting for at least) and be delivered to me by next Thursday.

We'll see how it goes, but I'm hoping I get it sooner rather than later so I can go wheel!

That’s awesome Chris, congrats. That TJ is pretty setup and should be able to conquer most everything you point it at.

That’s my thoughts as well. We have a lot of really good wheeling down here so I wanted something that will get the job done and this is one hell of a solid build.

What are you doing with the silver one? I haven’t read your Teeth thread because it’s blown up into tons of banter lol.

I’ll just end up selling it. No way I can afford to keep both.

Really glad it’s ending up in your hands and it sounds like you will put it to good use! It just works well! If I had a garage to save it from the salt air and shitty New England weather we wouldnt be here but it will be nice to watch you wheel it and make it even more capable than it already is.

Yep, I’ll finish up the last few things and then I think it will be about as good as any TJ can get.

I don’t blame you either. Up there in New England that has to be some seriously bad salt. Last thing I would want is to drive that in the salt or even have to park it outside during the winter.

I think you will be surprised once you take it out and wheel it just how well it works as it sits right now.

I have no doubt whatsoever. And truthfully the moment I get it I am going to go out and wheel it since good wheeling is right down the road from me. I plan to wheel it as is until Blaine gets to it in October.

The PSC will be awesome though for turning in the rocks. @Alex01 and @Midnight LJR say it’s a game changer.

Congrats ...again !!! lol This one looks sweet though. I know your an advocate for Savvy (and who wouldn't be) and looks like everything under the floor is from the first 3 pages of their catalogue haha
So this one is a keeper then aye ??

It does have almost the entire Savvy catalog, which if you add it up is something like 11k worth of parts I believe 🤣
