I'm looking for a way to mount my CB antenna that doesn't use the taillight mounts or a spare tire carrier mount. I also have Savvy armor if that means anything. Looking for suggestions on this one and curious to see what others have done.

Again, no taillight mounts or spare tire carrier mounts.

Maybe this? I have not used it, but it fits your requirements.

I have to ask .. Why not a taillight mount?

I am running the spare in the trunk area, so there isn’t a tire carrier or anything to attach it to. Though I could just drill some holes through the armor I’m sure, right?
You could use that and replace the trail rated badge with it... it'd match the radio antenna... or replace the radio antenna if you are using satellite/streaming radio...

Why CB, and not GMRS? Most Jeep events are making the switch from CB...

I installed one of these on the JK I previously owned; it's a strong mount and allows you to attach any UHF mount antenna.

I have a buddy that runs the antenna on his hood(clamps in the side like seen above) big radio guy. Says it lets the CB transmit better because it sees more metal or something like that 🤷🏻‍♂️. I will say his little 2 foot attena reaches about as far as my 4foot tailight mount so it must be doing something.

Do you have a photo of your antenna permanently mounted to the top of your tailgate?
I’ll look. I do still have the mount though so I’d think we could work something out cheap if you wanted to try it.

If possible I might just drill through the tub armor, tap the holes, and use the armor as a means of mounting the CB antenna mount. Seems like that would work.

Move it up front:

5 foot Firestik II for road use, will carry a 2 footer for trails. Plus magnet-mount GMRS antenna on fender.

Incidentally, Always, always run a larger antenna on the DRIVER'S side. You'll thank me the first time you park under a tree - or even drive down some streets!

It would be nice if everyone had it. If you run with the same group all the time, easier to encourage this. The cheap Baofeng's are popular, but still less that 50% have them.

Ham would be better, but nobody wants to spend a few hours studying and then take the test.
