Picking up where I left off

A long time ago when I was running a stock 42, I installed the Transgo kit. For me, the juice was definitely not worth the squeeze. I noticed almost no difference - perhaps the shifts were just a bit firmer - but it did nothing for the real problems with the 42.
That's all you're going to get with a Stage 1 shift kit, but that's on purpose. It does reduce the overlap on the shifts a bit, which reduces heat and wear, but not so much that it bangs the shifts. In my youth, I went Stage 3 on a '68 Charger. It was hard not to chirp the 1-2 shift, and if I was on it, I had no problem barking the 2-3 shift as well as the 1-2. That was with a mildly warmed over 383.

@mrblaine did it have vibes before the trans swap or is it a problem caused by the automatic transmission?

@Chris may be buying a hub kit half way back to AZ

For any of ya'll following along that think you can just fetch up seats off the internet and they will fit you, not so fast. The seats in his rig from the local company fit me very poorly. So poorly that if you brought them to me for free and told me I could run them, I would not. I'd find someone who likes to lean way back, likes to drive with their nuts cuddled by a banana bicycle seat, and likes to mash said nuts getting in and out and give the seats to them. But, for all I know, they may fit his very odd little body like a glove and be the very best thing since sliced bread.

Currently, it is vibe free up to 70 mph with the front driveshaft out. We don't chase our tails so we start with the rear and dial it in. We'll know more tomorrow.

Well, at least @Chris will know that anything he does other than hubs after you're done will just mess it up. Mike told me the lengths you go to dialing it all in.
