LED headlight shootout

FWIW, I have the Trucklite knock-offs from Amazon for about $100 a pair ... they are bright and they suck to any oncoming drivers. The pattern is so bad I had to look twice to make sure I didn't install them upside down. They are now aimed so low to compensate somewhat but that compromises the distance visibility.

I plugged mine in with no adjustment and got flashed right away. I've turned them down a bit and hasnt happened since. The pattern is fine in my opinion, kind of a "W" when off in the distance and a crisp, clean line at the top. They're leaps and bounds better than the stock lights and I thought stock was perfectly fine for the longest time.

I'm the original poster. I'm running H4 halogens in my Jeep. I just posted this as more of an interesting comparison.

Not sure which ones are listed in the knock off thread. These are the ones I have. If the reviews are legit and not written by shills, they are well received. YMMV I guess.

I want to upgrade my 7" headlights, but not the ones in the Jeep. The lights in my Oldsmobile are very dim, even with a direct battery relay harness. A very stock look and warm color are important to me. The same goes for the Jeep too if I ever decide to change those, but warmth of color isn't so crucial.

Can always try the Peterson headlights. I believe KC /Trucklite got the design from them? Or Peterson makes the KC versions of these headlights. I forget which way it goes.

Yep, I love them. However, it's been so long since I've had the Truck Lites and all the others that I really don't feel comfortable saying one is brighter than the other. I will say that I feel like they are just as bright as all the others, so I am not the slightest bit disappointed.

I get flashed in my ‘15 F150 ALL THE TIME. Factory LED’s, factory truck.



My TJ lights are 200% better than stock. But I don’t get flashes like my stock truck.






I think I bought them for $60 shipped.

I don't drive my TJ much at night but I have really liked the JK housing with an LED bulb. Usually you can source used JK housings for 10-20 bucks and the LED bulbs are like 90 bucks. A very good upgrade from stock and very bright.

My $50 Chinese LED headlights are so much brighter than stock, but don't compare to my insanely bright driving lights ($40 from China also). Since Biden is the new President, I figured I'd help support him and his son Hunter financially.

Interesting. I currently run IPF H4 housings with LED bulbs. I like how it retains the stock look, but the beam pattern isn't ideal. The cut off is okay because I purposely aimed them to not blind oncoming traffic, but the high beams are a bit lacking. I have KC LED daylighters I use when I need high beams. As far as the shootout, I think if I were to change from my current setup I'd go with the KC Gravity LEDs. I just prefer the look. The new Chinese LEDs and weird projector ones just look odd and out of place on a TJ in my opinion. Just makes it look cheap and ricey, like Altezza tail lights on a Civic.
