I'd like to see a video/picture of where you got your trail rash.

Unfortunately, there are legal proceedings and a criminal investigation currently under way with regard to the "spotting" I received on that obstacle. I am constrained by a gag order and cannot discuss.

The Fallen is also a very cool trail. The noteworthy obstacle is called "The V-Notch" (I think - Vic - correct me if I am wrong).

But to get to The Notch, you need to get through the gatekeeper - and obstacle called "The Z-Turn." I like to think that I did it with some style:

The Chute is among the most iconic obstacles in Sand Hollow. On the videos I've seen it looks crazy and scary. This is one time where the videos do not do it justice - in person, it's not bad at all:

I remember it looking pretty imposing at first approach, but it's just so sticky you just crawl right up it.

The tire marks 30' up in the air all over Sand Hollow from the crazy buggy guys still blows my mind.

We had been running 7's, 8's and 9's all week. Victor, Scott (Grey Jeep) and I were able to set out a few days on our own. On one of those days, we hit a trail called "Death Row." AKA, "Death Star" as Victor called it. It was an 8. Well, someone must have gotten their numbers wrong because this thing was gnarly.

A lot of the obstacles in Sand Hollow do not have a high consequence. Lots of opportunities for flops, but not a lot of places for a gnarly roll to your death.

This one was definitely a "you could roll to your death" obstacle, Steep, technical, and a nasty off camber toward the drop off. The videos do not do this one justice.

All of us got to the top - with varying levels of tire barking and terror. But the absolute crazy thing was that once we all got to the top and hit the trail - we had not gone 100 feet when Victor broke his drag link tie rod end and completely lost steering control.

We all agreed - but were very reluctant to discuss - that had that thing given way 200 feet prior, Victor would have been halfway up that climb. That thought was absolutely terrifying. Someone was definitely watching over Victor.

Anyway - a quick weld repair to his spare drag link, and we were back on the trail - but still very freaked out.

An obstacle of which I do recall the name was in "The Maze." It is the exit from the area and is called "The Drop." There is an actual sign and everything. You need to navigate this thing to continue on the trail. The reputation was that The Drop was terrifying, and that reputation sometimes keeps people from trying The Maze (well, none of us, of course...).

OK - I spoke to my Lawyer - who cleared it with the Judge and the principal investigator - and he suggested that releasing the video of "The Incident" would help my case, and drive a huuuuge settlement. So, here it is.

The really funny thing about this is that Nate ( @NJW - Nate - I think you had a very cool picture of this) hit the obstacle next. And Victor spotted him through without a scratch!!!

That’s why Victor is such a good spotter, he learns from others mistakes.

"The Fallen" is a trail dedicated to our service members who have given their ultimate sacrifice. There is a monument accessible only by an off road rig. It was very touching, and solemn. I had the privilege of seeing it with Rick, and a bit through his eyes. I was quite moved.

Seriously, Jeff that was painful to see but I'm not worried about you refreshing the rig. It gets used hard and that's not the first time there's been an "incident"
