Put it in the granny gear and let it do it's thing. Of course, I was at 83:1 crawl ratio. Not sure where you are. I often did crawl in 2nd on steeper stuff that needed a bit more 'go' juice. I "wheel by feel."

. Love me some grimmjeeper.Thinking I may be using 2nd or 3rd Low a bit if momentum is required. I drive by 'feel' as well. If I feel my spinckster I know I'm ALIVE!

That's nice gearing for a manual transmission.

That's the plan. I have reservations for both. Alone in April in a tent, wife and twin 6-year old girls in June in a cabin (and 2 local TJ buddies).
But I'm only 8 hours away from Moab.
And I replied to a September "RUBICON" post earlier today. Don't know how that will shake out but I'm only about 5 hours from there. I've had my built XJ for 15 years and haven't been to either place. I'd take the LJ to Rubicon tho. I pound the shitbox and daily it in winter.
And if it works out I'll get the LJ to Montana July/August to cruise my old stomping grounds and fishing holes. Some sweet trails up there and I know where to find them.

Hmm… June 9-15 eh? I might be able to swing that. I know my wife would like to go too, and K would love to bring his rig.
