Rock Krawler 12 inch stretch kit

Personally, I have never seen a JJ fail on the trail. I have seen a handful of RK joints on JK's fail on easy Big Bear trails. The joints completely came apart.

I have a Rock Krawler 2” lift kit in my LJ. It works for me, no complaints. I think there quality is fine. Good Luck with whatever you build.

Nah tbh I was confused about how a 12” would fit without making a complete buggy this is what I was looking for😂

Right now I’m running Johnny Joints all around, 35’s high line, lockers, etc and the only thing holding it back is the wheel base. In Az there are few Ljs on the market and if there are people want like 20k+ which is outrageous in my opinion. If I end up diving in I’ll just swap jk 44s and probably a 5” stretch and call it good until I get the urge to take the front apart relocate everything just to gain a couple more inches😂

If you stretch 12” you will need larger tires.
Larger tires=new axles
Even a 5” stretch is going to require some fabrication and welding to do correctly. Remember you can’t simply bolt on longer wheel base correctly. The rear cannot go back with out addressing the gas tank and the frame. So a fuel cell and a back half kit at the minimum will have to be done, even for 5”.
If I went 1” in the rear I would have to address my fuel tank.

Anyone that has the skills to successfully install one of these also has the skills to fabricate their own from scratch. I guess this could save some considerable time building brackets, tabs, links, trusses, etc. Also, since its so easy to find reliable 4 link geometry information on forum discussions, one could save themselves a lot of headaches by digging though a metric shit ton of garbage and just throw faith at RK's experience (or genright's, motobilt's etc). As far as price, you just have to consider how much your time is worth. For some, time isn't worth this much. For others, the time lost researching and fabricating is considerably more than the cost of a kit.

I'll be doing 6" without a back half kit.

I believe he was referring to an LJ, though even in a TJ you can certainly stretch 5" without a back-half kit. There are also a handful of gas tank options that don't require going to a fuel cell (not saying any of this is smart or bolt-on, just that there are other ways to skin a cat).
