True indeed! There's two sides to every story, but I always like to think that the truth to every story lies somewhere in the middle.

There are lots of sides to every story...lots. The "truth" is usually very hard to discern, even with diligent study and access to eye witness accounts. One truth is that the winner gets to write history. Another truth is that no one is as clean as they seem. After all, we are human. A third truth is that any judgements about a person or action needs to take into account more than just the person or action itself. Case in point. I just watched the video of a guy named LaVoy get shot and killed about 20 times. Note that this is official FBI surveillance video. The official narrative exactly matches the video. Is it the truth? After staring at that video forwards and backwards, in slow motion and at normal speed I have my doubts. Same deal with a whole bunch of other narratives that we are told is the truth. The founding fathers? Read a whole bunch of source documents. Lincoln? Same, Teddy Roosevlet? Same. FDR? Same. History is the script that those in positions of power want you to believe. The truth is nebulous and difficult to discern.

There in lies the truth. I too believe no one is pure as driven snow. I hate those who profess to be so pure and those who attack those who are not. The best people I know try to do better, try to be positive role models and mentors, try to help those struggling with issues and addictions they might also have. And rarely "attack" others.

Those people get my vote every time. Canada's Justin Trudeau just ran a flawless campaign. The last 2 weeks... not a negative word. He appealed to Canada to do better... and won by a land slide. I think the US would react the same way to a positive message.
