Jeep Clubs?

That is absolutely false! Having worked at Coors for 5 years I can tell you that the water is sourced from springs around the property. They don't pull ANY water from that creek. In fact, they put used treated water back into it.

Oh nice! I can pee in it then!

Thanks for the info. I just assumed with it being built on the creek, that's where the water came from. Now I know.

Went to dance classes for several years at "Serpent's Kiss" which was right by the clock tower - the teacher would look out the window to check the time.

Not sure how long it's been since you've been back but I hardly recognize it anymore. Last few years they are scraping everything and building up

I haven't been there since 2017. Used to dance at the "Crepe Place" restaurant on Soquel pretty often, and went there to eat with friends the nite before I left. https://www.thecrepeplace.com/

Yea, the 89 quake really destroyed thej Pacific Garden Mall. But all any one could talk about was when the fucking World Series would resume - NOBODY FUCKING CARED. 35 years later that still pisses me off. Watsonville and Salinas both got heavy handed afterwards as well.

I just got back into country from Germany 3 days before the quake. I was at the presidio driving to a flag football game. I was stationed at Oakland Army Base. The 880 was a disaster as was the bay bridge. I to a lot of really cool pictures. To get home, we had to drive over the GG bridge and then take the Richmond/San Rafael bridge over. It was a total mess.

I was in a swimming pool at Santa Cruz High when it hit. Pool was splashing like a little kid in a bathtub.... one side dropped about 6 " then it ran empty. Remember seeing houses catch fire immediately after. Dumb ass kids we went to surf as soon as we could. The beach looked like a perfect whoops section, you could see in the sand where the waves of earthquake rolled through. Never seen anything else like that

SC was cut off for about a week or so. We ended up chipping in digging through rubble downtown looking for people. I remember Ol' George Bush sr flying in to see the damage, was a big deal at the time

I was watching it on TV that day. My ex-wife had gotten thrown from her horse and broken her tailbone. I was at a military school and had to come home to tale care of her so we were watching the World Series on TV and watched it unfold.

Stop talking about Earthquakes you’ll wake the Earthquake Gods. We’re due here in SoCal. I’m 8 miles from the San Jacinto fault and 3 miles from the San Andreas fault both due for a 7 or greater. The only good thing about a big one is watching the earth ripple and solid things bend and not break if you’re outside. Been through some big shakes in the 45 yrs I’ve lived here. When we do have the Big One most people will be like zombies and have no clue of what to do. My Tj is my survival vehicle. The tank is always full and backup gas is ready. Camper for shelter, food and water for 3 weeks.

Great coaster on the boardwalk SC. Tooo my kids there in ‘19 just to ride it. That town has become a shithole otherwise. Can’t even walk the canal without having to avoid tent city’s.

Ain't Santa Cruz the Boardwalk they used in the movie "The Lost Boys" ?

They called it Santa Clara.

Yes, but it was "Santa Carla". My late father did the wiring on two of the rides there, one of them is still extant the "Cave Train". Of course the Giant Dipper and the Looff carousel are treasures.

Every scene in that movie was shot with in a couple blocks of my house. We were little kids trying to sneak in the back ground. Camera guy asked if we wanted to be in movie. Pointed camera at us and told us we were in. Went home and told our parents... they had to explain we were screwing up his shots and he just got us to beat it
