Being that this axle has been welded couple times already is there an issue with integrity or a support bracket should solve that?
So would making a tie-in plate or a diff cover that had a tab off the top that could be tied into truss help? I've seen them for Dana 60's but don't know if I've see just that type of diff cover available for Dana 44.
Welding isn't the issue. Grinding down what's there will take a lot of work.
Says it's Sold Out right now so you'll have to reach out to them and see if they have an ETA on when they'll have more in stock.
Pretty sure someone else might make one too...
He won't be buying a $130 diff cover if I can help it.
Careful cutting and fitting of some 3/16" plates for the front of the truss structure would alleviate the damage from the leverage. One for each side notched around the swaybar mount if needed would fix it.
Get in there with a cut off wheel ect. and clean both ends of the flat plate where it is next to the tube to shiny metal and weld the ends to the tube.
Alternately, if someone wants to do the work and he can pay shipping, I can send over a Savvy rear truss, locating brace and maybe a few bolts. Unfortunately, that would require adapting the rod ends to Johnny Joints at the axle. A puzzle for sure but very doable. I may even have some tube adapters that would work. Turns it into a project rather than a repair. Cost is low for a much better trouble free answer.
