Who in here likes to fish?

I love fishing and have all my life. I live on the Gulf Coast now so Trout and Redfish are the main fish we go for. Occasionally, we'll get small Sheephead or a catfish. But when we're bored, we'll hit the piers for some monster Drum!

Caught it 10/13/2018. Figure it's about a 4lb fish.

Brother caught his PB right next to me same day:

His was maybe 3-3.5lb.

Did you recently move away from the coast? Or are you now getting ready for a move?

I have to say coast life here is pretty special especially to raise a little one up here with these types of adventures! My daughter today wakes up and says she wants to go jeep around the sand dunes! Priceless.

Lived in Bandon for a few years as a kid. I’m about an hour away now, we go often. No, just looking to leave the state and the coast is the one thing I’ll really miss. You are lucky to be able to live there, jobs are spotty at best! Enjoy those moments with your girl! Sooo cool.

Thanks! And yeah I’ve been wanting to explore some south coast, I hear good things about Brandon to Brookings. Work is far and few between for sure! I work for an agency that finds me hospital work all over and pays really well. If I could figure out where to offload some crab I could make some side $$$!

What's the limit for crabs in Oregon? Is it 10 like in California?

What's the limit for crabs in Oregon? Is it 10 like in California?

Limit is 12 males per day per person so with my daughter we can double the take!

They also have to be 5-3/4” minimum. Where as I think California has to be 6” if I remember correctly.

Good clean fun though, going to get into clamming a bit too!

Man that is a crazy amount of crab for a single day! What did you end up doing with them all if you don’t mind sharing? Local restaurants buy them?

Shared them with family and friends. They will also freeze after you cook them for up to six months.

As far as selling, I believe it is illegal unless you are commercially licensed.

Bottom pic looks like one of My Koi in my pond....where do you live? I want to retire in your state.

That one I caught at a B&B we were staying at, owners were pissed to say the least, it was an open pond and wasn't really a pet, washed in from a flood.
I've had the worst luck w/ Koi...I've stocked over 30 in my pond and between the birds, otters, coons, and bears getting them...not cheap, I lose a bunch of trout every year to otters. Had a load of HUGE goldfish too..gone.

I still have two koi in a 55 gal aquarium in the house trying to grow them out to hopefully survive pond life, man they poop a lot.

Love fishing, and so does my wife. Well load the camper, hook up the boat and roll to the bite. Bluefin out of Socal to high mountain streams for trout. Over the years chasing Albacore from Charleston Ore. to here in Northern Ca. has been my favorite with fly fishing for Stripers right here in my backyard the Ca. Delta a close second. There’s nothing more rewarding then running my boat that I pretty much built from a bare hull and plugging the holds with Tuna. I’ll can about 70 to 80 pints of Albacore each year to get us and family thru till the next season. Great thread, enjoyed everyone’s pictures,,,gregg

I miss living in Texas when we'd go to our favorite all you can eat shrimp dive and they'd tell us "The boat's not back yet, you'll have to wait, the salad bar is over th"...yeah, we know where the fuckin' salad bar is.

Living the life my friend! Beautiful boat and I want to Tuna! fish so bad....I’m jealous. My next boat if I stay near enough the coast will be a glass boat built for the open sea. I fell in love with it and sport fishing rocks!!!
