Bronco vs. Wrangler

Yeah, it went allover the place. I thought the driver was just showing off but apparently the rig is floating on sand and that is dangerous imo.

All this Bronco mania with albeit-non commital $100 deposits and such, is just an eye opener.
How long has Ford had this sleeping market of people (with money) that they didn't tap into years ago?
It just goes to show that Ford and many others are simply not trying hard enough.
Their truck sales has saved them for years. And Now they try a rebrand and bring out a Jeep contender. BUT with IFS. LOL

I bought some AEV wheels and tires from a guy off craigslist yesterday. He ran them on his 2016 JKU but traded it in because it had a ton of problems and he spent about $4500 in 6 months on repairs and then ditched it. Said he has a deposit in for a Bronco. If nothing else, the Bronco is going to push Jeep to up their game! I think they'll be selling a ton of Broncos in Colorado.

And it very well may help usher in one of the biggest changes in Wrangler development we may ever see...
I'm curious, does anyone think the bronco might bring an end to the SFA?
In the eyes of the public, it can do everything a jeep can, and will likely do it while riding and handling better. There will be little left to justify the worse ride quality and steering & death wobble scares for most buyers.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see IFS in the next generation of Wrangler at all. Especially if the Bronco does well.

I'm honestly surprised it hasn't happened already. In reality the proportion of JL drivers who actually do anything that needs a SFA is very, very small.

I wonder how many of these will go through with the purchase? The $100 is fully refundable at this point. They will start getting the actual deposits and going over vehicle options/packages and financing numbers with customers by mid-December (I think).
What is the SFA

I didn't mention SFA in my post, but SFA stands for solid front axle. Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post. Haha. Now I am wondering "what is the SFA?"

No they won't even knock a measurable dent in off-road vehicle design... Sometimes a manufacturer knows a good strategy is to offer something different even if it's not better.

And don't get me wrong it's better in some situations... Like in a sport truck or trophy truck class vehicle... But the amount of money that is put into it is staggering.

there are guys on here that are a lot more in touch with the off-road world that I am especially at that level... So take with what this Alabama redneck says with a grain of salt.

Ford is a very successful vehicle company and has been for a long time... I believe in the dust settles that jeep is going to have a better product offering, and the Bronco will do about as well as the FJ cruiser.. as far as how often you see them on the road... Maybe a little better... But it's not going to stand the world on its head.

Too bad Ford didn't use their excellent Twin I-beam front end. That was, in my opinion, the only truck IFS that was ever worth a damn. Everything else, including current Fords, are like Chevy's front end - unreliable and fragile.
