LJ front frame repair suggestions

OP do that with the front half of the TJ frame you found. May as well stretch it while you're there hehehehe. ;) It would be a shame to cut your frame and still be stock.

if i fuck up my frame, and I probably will, i'd be looking real close at a Goat Built tube chassis.
Only a fucking idiot tries to stretch the front any significant amount.

I was thinking add some fish plates over the buckled area. I think the frame is designed to buckle there. It's not ideal but it happens. you can find replacement frames at wrecking yards or it's a good opportunity to cut it off and start going custom :). So long as you got an angle grinder and welder.
This is what I would do.

nobody said every frame can be saved, but not every 1 has to be scrapped either. if your not comfortable working on frame that's fine. but some of us work with steel and are not intimidated by replacing some. if a section patch is done right it's gonna be stronger than most of the rest of it.

now can this be fixed ................sure if it bugs you tear it down and get to work.
will it fail during daily driving ...........i doubt it.
does it have to be fixed? was what i asked, (as a question, not an answer), if everything is located where it should be. if it displays no abnormal driving characteristics. does it HAVE TO be fixed or something bads GONNA happen?

if you want to make the point that if left as is it would be a weak spot and will buckle much easier next time a hit is taken in that area, i cannot disagree.

there's a few ways to go about it too. 1 being the cleanest and a couple that'll look like shit but work.

and both those pics suck cause unless you know what to look for most won't see any obvious damage beyond the fenders and bumper.
