Work from home LJ

It might help. It could still be pretty unstable because the jack is narrow. We were using an even smaller, narrow 2 ton I think. It took the two boys steadying it and me slowly moving the jack. I’ve been able to do everything with the transmission jack by myself. It’s wide and really stable. The knobs for the table movements are great too. I have (and also got my son) the 2000 lbs one. Kinda overkill but I think it will cover anything I’ll ever need to do with it. It’s heavy though!!

I have a couple pics at home I can post when I get home tonight, of the janky setup we had. 😄

Set pinion angle and drove around block without any major vibrations. Swapped the 4wd sensor while I had the skid plate out so now my 4WD light works for first time in 2 years.

I will start the black magic brake light install sometime this week. Should be straight forward minus trimming my exogate tailgate reinforcement thing.

There used to be one similar here that I always seen at Lowes. It had a less fancy top though. I haven’t seen it in years though.

Well
Red LJR rubitrux conversion….cant be that many in the area

To clarify, the one I was seeing was khaki with a black top, but same setup with the single cab and mini bed. I can’t remember if it was a Rubicon though.

I need to buy the rollbar brackets (driver/passenger side) to attach my factory soft top. I am trying to source them and found this website https://parts.mopargenuineparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-jeep-wrangler-soft-top-roll-bar-bracket-2003-2006-lwb-55395224ac?c=Zz1ib2R5LXNoZWV0LW1ldGFsLWV4Y2VwdC1kb29ycyZzPXJvb2YtaGFyZC1hbmQtc29mdC10b3AmbD01OCZuPUFzc2VtYmxpZXMgUGFnZSZhPWplZXAmbz13cmFuZ2xlciZ5PTIwMDQmdD11bmxpbWl0ZWQmZT00LTBsLWw2LWdhcw==

This website claims the two sides (driver/passenger) are interchangeable....and to just order 2 of the same bracket? I have a very hard time believing that is accurate?

Does this look right for an LJ?

I just looked at my LJ (it was a dual-top TJ). I think the R bracket might fit on the left side (it would be upside-down), but then the mounting hole for the bow will be either higher or lower than it's supposed to be. Maybe it would still work?

Few updates on the jeep since its been awhile

- Installed BMB brake lights. They are great. Directions were easy to follow. Love supporting vendors who actually send you the parts you pay for...unlike another vendor I bought from in the past.

- Went to install soft top and found out I was missing these connectors. Ordered a set so hopefully can install soft top this weekend and take jeep to pool.

- Ill be rebuilding my exhaust next. The exhaust currently on jeep is very loud. Id like it to be quieter and exit out by the rear axle like it would stock.

- Then, alignment. Will trailer jeep to get it aligned and likely drive it home. Ive driven jeep around neighborhood since we moved (pool, lake, brewery, etc) but nothing on the highway. Want the alignment dialed in and professionally double checked before that (wife decided this one). I have my caster/pinion angles written down in case the alignment completely ruins the jeep lol

First trip is sept 20th....so Ive still got time!

Finished my new exhaust. Went with banks kit just because it was easy. My old setup had a bad hole in it.

Come to find out it also was a banks kit. I had never looked at muffler before.

Old and new pictured below. Rest of exhaust was in even worse shape. Here’s Jeep parked at lake by my new house. Love driving the thing!

Today was a garage day. I’ve been slowly improving my new workspace to make it more comfortable and fit my needs.

So I found some 6 ton jack mounts and got them off the floor for the first time in 3 years.

Small improvements every week and this place will be kind of nice a year from now!
