Anyways related to the trip. It was kinda a shit show. Dude I went with decided not to mention his dog is "highly protective of us and our jeep" aka aggressive. I spent the entire first night keeping his dog from guarding the campsite from mine. I left the next day after I got yelled at for stopping their dog from trying to bite mine again. So stupid.
That was the night I ended up in Alamosa and got the control arm fixed. Next day, everything fixed, I decided to get as close to Poughkeepsie to camp as I could. I think I took mineral Creek up to it - I probably got there around 6. Couldn't find a campsite - in the dark, I turned off what I thought was a road to a campsite, ended up driving up a cutout from the forest service for erosion control. Not a road. Sketchy lol. I left and slept in my jeep on Silverton, shit night.
Overnight my ground beef escaped it's container in my cooler. Contaminated it all including my beer. By the time I got out of town to dump the water, it had left congealed fat through the Jeep and my stuff.
So I drove home with the Jeep smelling like meat and then broke the ujoint almost back of the highway. What a shit trip. And I don't think I like jeep camping anymore
I didn't take many pics when shit hit the fan, but:
Heading down medano first day:
Stopping by the rio grande reservoir after getting the control arm fixed
Cool little photo spot on Stony pass I think
Meat gunk
