It just happened!

GenRight parts started arriving. Received the LJ corners, along with the inner and outer front fenders. The rear flares will arrive next week. Also received the BMB 3 wire marker/turn signal lights. Once the TJ is gone to its new home, I'll start on the installation of these and other parts.

Have sold it? I know you reasoning, but IMHO a real shame given how much amazing work you put in to it.

Long story there. The short version is it's going to my oldest son. He's turned his life around and I'm proud of how far he's come in the last couple years. He's been spending some time wrenching with me lately and I believe he's now in a position to appreciate and care for the Jeep.

That said, we got a little work to do to get it set up for his use. We've already dropped it in height, went with a 2" set of springs, and set up shocks to match. The 241 case will come out and I've built a 231 with a SYE for him. There's more than that, but details will follow, at some point.

Well, we know you won’t have to clean it…

🙂

That's a great outcome, both in terms of your son getting things sortex and the TJ that you have put so much time and energy in to going to the best possible next owner. I am sure you are both making some great momories together working on the TJ.

After fighting with the snap rings on JJs, because I only have a small multi-tool plier, I broke down and bought a nice snap ring plier set. This is a HF Icon set that is on sale for members. The quality is surprisingly good and the price was right, at $59.

I have the same set, bought it last time they had a sale on Icon tools. Last time I tried using my channel lock set of snap ring pliers I wanted to throw them, so I upgraded. Haven't used em yet, but they do feel nice in the hand.

I've updated my spreadsheet and included it in the first post. Part of the reason for doing this is to better organize what I've done, and what's left to do. The other nice thing is I can now start to link work done to specific places in my build thread. That will make it much easier to find things. For this go round, I've only linked to a few, just to get started.

As a side note, it's amazing how quickly things adds up. Having built a few Jeeps over the years, prices for everything have gotten stupid. I used to be able to buy a Jeep, fix it up, then sell for a profit. I did this for years, to pay for my own mods. That is no longer practical, given costs after COVID. 😒
