Basket's Build

The passenger tire is the only one that rubs (probably miscentered front axle), but I put the 1" spacer on both sides to keep it even. The bump is shorter on the driver side still though.

Gotcha. Once the top spacer is removed then your down travel will be even less. Id still add a riser to the bottom to gain another inch of down travel and get you closer to 50/50

Ah yeah I have it backyards. Are they special made things for that or should I just stack some washers?

It seems weird that I end up with so little downtravel. Does that mean my shock is too short or something, or is this just a limitation of the stock mounts?

I think the preferred way would be to use round stock. Though I've seen people use sockets, washers, fabricated mounts, etc. It may be janky but it is giving you the most out of your current shocks.

Your shocks are short. But you're solving the problem by moving mounts. 99% of people wouldn't know but since you're taking the time to do all this, you're way ahead them already. You have a real grasp already on how to outboard😅

Cool I'll look into spacing the bottom then. Well that's cool! I should do some reading on what outboarding actually is and what it accomplishes since this is kinda close. I have a vague idea from reading before but now I bet it'll make more sense.

Cycling the suspension was kinda tedious but I'm really glad I did it, I learned a lot in a short time that reading here just didn't show me

Waiting for track bar be like

Track bar got here Sunday. I did some work last night, I still need to get the rear LCAs replaced before I deal with the track bar. Both the axle side bolts are seized in there it seems. I cut one out last night with the sawzall, will do the next one soon here too

Do you have an impact? That can often help (and hurt). I learned this weekend I shouldn't have been so cavalier about antisieze, even in Colorado...

I don't unfortunately. Just one of those things I'm still waiting to buy... What happened with the antisieze?

Oh okay. Yeah I forgot to put some on a few of the bolts and I'm sure I'm gonna regret it later

I didn't use it in my bump stops, we got it out of the spring perch but had to burn and smash the bolt out of the jaunce + cup ruining the jaunce.

I honestly got lucky we didn't have to make a weekend out of breaking free a broken bolt.

Lesson learned!

After sawzalling through 2 LCA bolts... I'm going back and doing the work with antiseize lol. It's harder to find replacements than to do the cutting really though
I am not sure if you have an ACE by you, but the one by me has a great selection of bolts - I've found almost every one I've ever needed there.

The Ace I used to go to on Bowles/Kipling had a great selection too. Even had left-threaded fastners

Mine has a decent selection but I do know from experience they don't have any that fit for the LCAs in grade 8... Last time I tried they ended up having about 1/8" too much shoulder to tighten fully. But I ordered new hardware with the control arms anyways since it's all got 200k miles on it so happy to saw the old ones out to save some time
