Overland LJR built to explore and expedition

Although pure conjecture since I haven't seen the jeep or personally experienced the vibrations, it seems to me that a heavy spare without tight snubbers would transmit vibrations that would definitely be felt by the driver, particularly at idle.

Fix that first.

Haven't had time to play with angles just yet. But hoping to do so soon, life has gotten busy.

Just ordered the Noico sound dampening (two different thicknesses) used by Chris and Bed Rug, hoping to get that all in next weekend :)

Put on a good amount of sound dampening, probably got 70% done today. Tiring work. Will have to finish next weekend.

Tom left his jeep at my house for the week until he could come back out over the weekend to button it up. I ran out of things to do and was kicked out of the room, since the wife goes to school and has a big test, so I went outside and furthered Tom's progress.

No matter what it's able to go to Moab :p

Idle vibs have greatly been reduced. You'll need to wait for Tom's report on 65 mph vibs and noise reduction this weekend since its only right he gets to have the first drive.

I'd say Alex has secured his place in heaven solely from the work he has done on your Jeep. Rob too, for the gear work.
I'm just hoping the jeep gods smile down on me and keep my jeep safe from trip ending breakage. 😛

Edit: Knock on wood.

I must be feeling stressed for Tom since we are leaving very soon, he only has one available day to work on his rig, and I'll be gone a lot this weekend.

It’s interesting to me how the Bedrug covers the tailgate vents on the newer TJs, but it must not be a big deal?

It isn't air tight so I don't think it will be a problem. When we put the dynamat in we made sure not to cover the vents.
